The digital media lab is an essential element for [ars] numerica, linking the various production studios and the digital stage thanks to a central digital hub. It allows for artistic development and research associated with digital technologies. The tools present in the studios of the digital media lab can be used for the post production of visual and sound input as well as for the development of dedicated software.

Two types of studios make up the digital media lab: those whose applications are defined and those which are adaptable and equipped according to production needs.

The digital media lab includes:

• A digital video editing studio
• Two virtual editing studios
• A studio for video compositing
• A studio for computer generated graphics
• A studio for sound creation and postproduction
• A sound recording booth
• A studio dedicated to graphic design, to multimedia software development, networking and real time events
